Brickwork
Brickwork is the process of building walls and other structures by laying bricks in courses with mortar, creating strong, durable partitions, facades, and foundations. Properly executed brickwork gives good strength, weather resistance, and a clean base for plaster, paint, or exposed finishes.
Brickwork – Service Overview
Brickwork services typically include new wall construction, openings (doors/windows), parapet walls, compound walls, and infill masonry for framed buildings. Work covers layout, bricklaying in proper bonds, mortar mixing, joint finishing, and curing so walls stay plumb, level, and crack‑free.
What we do
Mark wall lines on site, set out corners, and establish levels and plumb so walls follow the drawings accurately.
Mix appropriate mortar (commonly cement–sand in 1:4 or 1:6 for structural work) and lay bricks in selected bond patterns with uniform 10–12 mm joints.
Build walls course by course, checking plumb and alignment with level and string, and providing proper toothing and keys at junctions for strength.
Form door and window openings with proper lintel support and corner strengthening, and leave chases or conduits for electrical and plumbing as required.
Finish joints as per requirement (raked for plastered walls or flush/struck for exposed brick), followed by adequate curing to achieve design strength.
Where we are expert
First‑class cement brickwork for main structural and partition walls that need straight lines, clean joints, and good finish before plaster.
Second‑class/internal brickwork for infill walls, compound walls, and non‑exposed areas where economy and speed are important but quality is still controlled.
Special brick bonds and cavity/rat‑trap walls for better thermal performance or aesthetic patterns where design demands more than plain running bond.
What makes us unique
Use of properly graded, well‑soaked bricks and controlled mortar ratios to reduce efflorescence, hollow joints, and future cracking.
Attention to bond, joint thickness, and alignment so walls are structurally sound and also visually neat, whether plastered or left exposed.
Coordination with structural and services drawings to leave correct gaps, embedments, and chases, avoiding later cutting and weakening of walls.
Transparent measurement and billing based on actual cubic/ square metres of brickwork, with clear specification of brick and mortar class for each area
